FraudGuard v2 API

January 01, 2020

After many, many months of development and testing we have finally launched our FraudGuard v2 API. This API update includes a rewrite of as well as adding more than 10 new customer accessible APIs. All paying FraudGuard customers get access to these new APIs including all new features.

First we've created a new API adding significantly more details to our old individual IP lookup API. For more info check out our API docs

This is an example output of our previous very popular individual IP lookup:

    "isocode": "KR",
    "country": "Republic of Korea",
    "state": "Seoul",
    "city": "Seoul",
    "discover_date": "2018-12-11 07:00:45",
    "threat": "honeypot_tracker",
    "risk_level": "5"

And this is an example of our new more detailed API response.

    "isocode": "US",
    "country": "United States",
    "state_code": "CA",
    "state": "California",
    "city": "Pomona",
    "postal_code": "91768",
    "latitude": 34.0662,
    "longitude": -117.7763,
    "timezone": "America/Los_Angeles",
    "connection_type": "Corporate",
    "asn": 7018,
    "asn_organization": "AT&T Services, Inc.",
    "isp": "AT&T Services",
    "organization": "AT&T Services",
    "discover_date": "2018-12-13 03:03:15",
    "threat": "abuse_tracker",
    "risk_level": "4"

In addition new features include bulk IP support, meaning you can now pull lists of IPs by either risk level or threat type. This makes integration into your infrastructure whether that be in the cloud, on-premise, or just a single server extremely easy.

In v2, we've also added geographic blacklist support. In this case we can generate an entire list of CIDR blocks to block or limit application access for any number of countries.

Lastly we've added customer specific whitelist/blacklist support where you can ensure an IP never gets blacklisted in our system and you can manage your entire organizations IP management needs using either our web application or our new APIs.

Please check out our redesigned API docs page for more details on our new APIs.
